We Believe Students Can

Change the World

Students are secret agents of change. The NCIIA and Epicenter hold this as a central tenant. That’s why the two national organizations have teamed up to train a generation of student leaders to create a movement on campus, one that will catalyze even greater levels of invention, innovation and creativity. Together, we envision a day when students can use their academic experience to pave a path to economic prosperity for themselves and the citizens of this planet.

Register a Student Ambassador for $5,000

Universities, Colleges, Faculty, Parents, Alums, Technology Associations & Corporations have all expressed interest in funding a Student Ambassador. The registration fee allows one student to attend the six-week online training for $5,000 and undergo intensive experiential learning about their own entrepreneurial ecosystems, strategies for enhancement and plans for immediate implementation.

During their year-long tenure as an Ambassador, students go on to hold multiple campus-wide events, experiential learning opportunities, and projects that benefit their campus technology entrepreneurship programs.

NCIIA will make available travel stipends to attend the 17th Annual OPEN conference, produced in partnership with Epicenter, which convenes national faculty and student leaders. Students are given exclusive access to monthly national WebEx meetings, reports and online social networks that serve to share best practice.

Two Annual Enrollment Deadlines: Spring: March 21th  |   Fall: September 16th

About the online training

Candidates meet and share materials on WebEx, getting feedback from peer candidates, NCIIA and Stanford/Epicenter.

Students receive course materials online and are assigned tasks that engage individuals from national leaders to campus stakeholders. Assignments are designed to teach in truly experiential fashion — so the mere act of completing ones homework assignment teaches them how to lead a movement on campus which inspires entrepreneurial culture on campus. Students share their experiences, gaining feedback and learning from one another, during a one-hour meeting via WebEx Online Conferencing platform. [For those unfamiliar, picture a Hollywood Squares screen where all participants can see and hear one another using an Internet-enabled computer with a web cam. Participants can interact with one another, share files, share their screen, chat with fellow participants and more]. Students who miss a course due to finals and other pressing commitments share their update via YouTube and get a link to the hour-long recording the day they miss the course.
